The recent transfer negotiations between La Liga outfit Real Betis and Scottish giants Rangers have come to a standstill.

That’s according to market insider Matteo Moretto, who has this weekend provided an insight into the situation.

For those not aware, the Real Betis brass have been locked in talks with their counterparts at Ibrox for several weeks now.

This comes after Rangers set their sights on the signature of up-and-coming Verdiblancos defender Nobel Mendy.

The Scottish side, initially, are understood to have been confident in their chances of getting a permanent deal done for the 21-year-old.

But as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media this weekend is anything to go by, then an agreement between the parties evidently remains some way off.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of journalist Matteo Moretto that:

‘Negotiations for Nobel Mendy with Rangers Football Club have broken down.’
