Real Betis have reportedly set their price for teenage sensation Assane Diao who has recently emerged as a transfer target for Lazio.
The Biancocelesti have been tracking several youngsters recently, with club president Claudio Lotito promising a new and exciting signing born in 2005. Diao obviously fits the description after cementing himself as one of the best young revelations in La Liga last season.
The winger earned a promotion to Betis’ first team last October and managed to score two goals in 18 La Liga appearances in addition to one strike in the Europa League. The 18-year-old is also a regular feature for Spain’s U19 and U21 national teams.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Diao’s contract with the Spanish club includes a release clause worth €30 million. Nevertheless, Betis would be willing to do business for €18 million, reveals the source. Therefore, it remains to be seen if Lazio would be willing to splash this amount to acquire the services of a young player.
The Senegal native started his career at Cadiz before moving to Betis in 2021. His contract with the Andalusian club is valid until June 2027. Diao is a right-footed player who primarily features as an inverted left winger, but can also play on the opposite flank or as a centre-forward.
