La Liga outfit Real Betis’ move for West Ham United midfielder Pablo Fornals has this evening at long last been confirmed.

The name of Spaniard Fornals has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines at the Estadio Benito Villamarín over the last 24 hours.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Betis brass had closed an agreement with their West Ham counterparts, over a deal which would see the 27-year-old seal an immediate return to his home country.

The accord in question was based around an initial fixed fee of €6 million, alongside add-ons worth a further €4 million.

And yet, as of yet, an official announcement regarding the transfer has not been forthcoming.

Speaking to the media late last night, Betis CEO Ramón Alarcón revealed that this came owing to a technical issue at West Ham, culminating in a delay in the necessary documents being processed.

As the problems dragged on past La Liga’s winter transfer deadline, concern that the move may not be formalised, in turn, began to mount.

As alluded to above, though, on Friday evening, such fears have been put firmly to bed.

This comes amid confirmation by way of transfer insider Fabrizio Romano that the deal between Real Betis and West Ham has been approved by FIFA, with Fornals therefore set to link up with the former imminently.
