Paulo Fonseca’s future is uncertain. The Portuguese manager, who has his current club, Lille OSC, sitting fourth in Ligue 1 and on course for qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League, could leave Les Dogues upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season. Should he do so, he will not be short of suitors.

As reported by L’Équipe earlier on Friday, Olympique de Marseille have made Fonseca their primary target. OM showed an interest in the Lille manager last summer, however, LOSC president Olivier Létang was unwilling to allow his manager to leave the club.

Létang will have less of a say in the matter this time around but Marseille aren’t the only team interested, according to Foot Mercato. West Ham United are seriously considering replacing David Moyes at the end of the season and David Sullivan and Tim Steidten are strong admirers of Fonseca. Whilst the former AS Roma coach remains fully focused on securing Lille’s place in next season’s Champions League, there is a good chance he will leave at the end of the current campaign.
