With just four games remaining this season, the future of Paulo Fonseca is a hot topic. The Portuguese manager’s contract at Lille OSC expires at the end of the current campaign and clubs domestically, and across Europe, are showing an interest.

Last year, LOSC president Oliver Létang fended off interest from Olympique de Marseille and managed to retain Fonseca. However, Marseille are looking for a manager once again this season, with Jean-Louis Gasset expected to depart at the end of his short interim spell. L’Équipe understands that Fonseca is Marseille’s priority this summer.

However, Les Phocéens could face competition. AC Milan are in the market for a new manager and have added Fonseca’s name to their shortlist, whilst West Ham United is also a potential destination. According to Foot Mercato, David Sullivan and Tim Steidten are particular fans of the former AS Roma head coach.

Amidst significant interest, Fonseca has said that he is yet to make a decision on his future. “[I’m handling the situation] calmly and completely focused on the last four matches. I have already said that my future is not important now. Lille’s future is the most important thing in these last four matches. I have not decided [on my future],” said Fonseca in a press conference on Saturday, who added that talk of his future is not a topic of conversation in the Lille dressing room either.
