Barcelona star Raphinha has admitted that he apologised to Pau Cubarsí, during the club’s meeting with Borussia Dortmund.

This comes after the Brazilian was responsible for ‘stealing’ a goal from his young teammate.

Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago, welcoming Borussia Dortmund to Catalunya’s capital for a Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash.

And, en route to an eventual 4-0 rout, it appeared as though the aforementioned Pau Cubarsí had opened the scoring, for what would have been his very first goal in Europe.

Just as the ball was set to cross the line, however, Raphinha intervened, sliding in to provide a frankly unnecessary touch, and take the goal for himself.

The intervention did not go down all too well amongst the Barcelona faithful, amid suggestions that Raphinha was a touch greedy in his actions.

Speaking to the media post-match, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his latest goal was put to the Brazilian himself.

And Raphinha was not shy in admitting:

“I was quite worried if I was offside. I apologised to Cubarsí, but he told me it was fine.”
