Rangers’ perfect start to the season continued on Saturday with a 4-0 win over St. Johnstone at Ibrox Stadium.
Scorers: Tillman 32′, Čolak 62′, Arfield 80′, Lawrence 83′
Despite a shaky start in Europe, the Scottish Premiership has been smooth sailing for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side so far this season.
Against St. Johnstone on Saturday Rangers dominated the run of play and picked up three points as a result to make it three wins from three.
However, it took a while for the hosts to eventually break through their opponents’ back line.
That was until some more magic from Malik Tillman made things for 1-0 as the youngster drifted away from his marker at the back post and looped his header beyond Remi Matthews.
It’s his second goal in as many games across all competitions.
Then coming out after the break Rangers aimed to ramp up their attack with the match still up for grabs for either club and the goals poured in.
Relentless pressure led to attempts hitting the woodwork before Antonio Čolak picked up a loose ball, turned, and doubled the lead. Like Tillman, he’s also on fire with three goals in three games.
Then two late strikes from substitutes Scott Arfield and Tom Lawrence wrapped up a statement 4-0 win.
The result means Rangers sit top of the table ahead of Celtic’s match with Kilmarnock on Sunday.
