A starter in AS Monaco's last four matches in Ligue 1, Radoslaw Majecki spoke to the media about the stakes of the match against Metz two days before the team's trip to the Stade-Symphorien.

He strongly contributed to the two clean sheets brought back by the Rouge et Blanc during the last four rounds of  league play. Very solid in the win in Lens at the end of February (a 2-3 win), Radoslaw Majecki has made seven appearances this season in all competitions combined. It was therefore to talk about his performances and the importance of the match in Metz (Saturday, 5 p.m.), that the Monegasque goalkeeper spoke with the press. 🎙️

His current form

Honestly I have felt good since the start of the season, I have this energy in me which means that I always give 100%. So I’m happy that my teammates feel this energy and I want it to continue like this.

At the start of the season I had a conversation with the coach, like every player. So we talked about the role of number 1, and the hierarchy was clear. But he also made me understand that things could change at any time.

My personality? I don’t really know what to say, honestly you should ask them how I am on a daily basis (smile)! In any case, I have a very good relationship with each of them, whether they have been there for a few years or not.

The change of goalkeeper

At the start of the season I had a conversation with the coach, like every player. So we talked about the role of number 1, and the hierarchy was clear. But he also made me understand that things could change at any time. So I was able to earn my place after good performances, and the squad accepted it.

There is a good connection between all of us, and that is very important. I try to communicate well on the pitch, and to make myself understood by the defenders. In any case, I felt deep down that I deserved to play.

Personally, I had prepared for the match against Lens for six months in order to be ready D-day when the coach called on me. I think that the three matches in this competition then showed that I could respond.

A change in the Coupe de France

Indeed it was very important for all of us, and for myself, to have good matches in the Coupe de France. Personally, I had prepared for the match against Lens for six months in order to be ready D-day when the coach called on me. I think that the three matches in this competition then showed that I could respond.

Bakayoko’s header against Lorient

(Smile) It’s true that I was very close to reaching it I was disappointed at the time, and I must say that I thought about it until the next day, but now it’s in the past and I only think about future events.

Matches on the rod

We need to find that extra spirit in each match to get three points. In this final sprint, there is no real difference between home matches or away ones;we have to show the best of ourselves every time. We obviously have to win for our supporters who come to encourage us, but we also want to perform at the Stade Louis-II, in front of our fans.

His loan to Cercle Bruges

My experience in Bruges was a bit difficult at the beginning, because we were at the bottom of the Jupiler Pro League table. But there was a famous match against Charleroi where I saved a penalty was a real turning point, for me and for the team. It really kicked off our season.

Before that I stayed for two years as a substitute at AS Monaco, so I needed to get playing time and that was the case, since I played 44 matches. It was a really good experience for me, which helped me later.

About the national team

If the coach decides to call me, I will obviously be there and I will be there! But he can only take three goalkeepers for a competition like Euro 2024 and there are many quality players in this position in Poland. So for the moment, I remain focused on my performances with AS Monaco.

Marcin Bulka? We have played together in the youth selections since we were 17 and now we are very close geographically (smile)! We sometimes send each other a few messages, so yes I get along pretty well with him.
