Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing AS Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana in the summer transfer window, according to Foot Mercato.
The ‘magnificent’ French international is also on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan. He is likely to leave the Ligue 1 outfit having come close last summer.
Arsenal are expected to be without one of Thomas Partey and Jorginho next term and the Gunners will need a replacement.
Fulham and Manchester United were keen on bringing Fofana to the Premier League last summer, and a move could finally happen if Arsenal decide that he is their man.
The Frenchman has also been influential in attack for Monaco this term despite primarily being a defensive midfielder, bagging three goals and three assists in 28 league games.
Arsenal can land Fofana for a decent fee, as he has just a year left on his contract at the Principality club.
He impressed the club during pre-season when he bagged a goal against them in the Emirates Cup.
His constant dribbling and ball-intercepting skills, his leadership, and his ability to break through lines and thread passes to the forwards are qualities the Gunners need.
