Sevilla head coach Quique Sánchez Flores has on Friday provided the latest on his future with the club.

Spanish tactician Quique, for his part, took up the reins at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán back in December, amid nothing short of a nightmare opening to the campaign in Seville.

And the former Valencia and Watford boss, to his credit, has since gone about guiding the Nervionenses comfortably clear of the La Liga relegation zone.

Despite as much, speculation has nevertheless continued to swirl when it comes to Quique’s future beyond the summer.

The 59-year-old put pen to paper on terms through 2025 upon taking his place on the touchline in Andalusia, but the Sevilla brass are understood to be taking into consideration yet another change upon the season’s close.

Speaking to the media on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his future was put to Quique himself.

And, in his response, the ex-Spanish international did little to play down the ongoing rumours linking him with an exit.

“I have contact every day with the president,” Quique began, as cited by Mundo Deportivo. “But it doesn’t mean we’re talking about next season. I am very happy at Sevilla, but we have to let our minds relax to think things through. Let the season end and then the parties can think freely. I like the club’s conviction and my own conviction. There are two parts, the club and the coach. There are five games left and then, based on conviction, decisions will be made. There is no future other than the last five days.”
