Bayern Munich takes on Schalke 04 on Sunday in the Bundesliga as the hosts look to avenge their 8-0 loss on the opening day.
Hansi Flick’s side won their reverse fixture on the opening day, crushing Schalke 8-0 and the hosts will not want a repeat of that result. After back to back defeats, Bayern has recovered somewhat, however, Bayern again left a lot to be desired in their 2-1 win over Freiburg and then their 1-0 win over Augsburg on Wednesday.
Bottom of the table Schalke is riddled with injuries. The hosts will be without Goncalo Pacienca, Salif Sane, Kilian Ludewig, Alessandro Schopf and Steven Skrzybski.
Nassim Boujellab made his return from an injury as a substitute in his side’s defeat to Koln and might be in consideration for a starting birth.
Hansi Flick’s side will have a full-strength side to choose from with Tanguy Nianzou the only first-team player out with a long-term injury.
Serge Gnabry was taken off with 23 minutes to go against Freiburg after it appeared he suffered yet another injury, luckily however it proved to be nothing.
Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
Neuer; Pavard, Boateng, Alaba, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Gnabry, Muller, Coman; Lewandowski.
It is top versus bottom on Sunday and with a full team to choose from, Bayern should win and win comfortably. With RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen both suffering defeats, Bayern has a chance to increase their lead at the top to seven points over Leipzig should they win.
Predicted scoreline: Schalke 1-4 Bayern
