Premier League predictions: Gameweek 28 | OneFootball

Manchester United open Gameweek 28 when they host an Everton side in desperate need of quick points, while a top-four showdown between Aston Villa and Tottenham could provide entertainment galore.

Here are 90min's predictions for the weekend ahead.

Saturday 9 March

Saturday's early kick-off sees Manchester United host Everton with both sides in desperate need of points. The Red Devils have lost their last two league games, while the Toffees have not won a league game since beating Burnley in December. It has all the makings of a very dramatic encounter.

There are only three 15:00 (GMT) kick-offs to look out for after the Old Trafford action, but they feature two of the three teams currently in the relegation zone. Luton Town are away at Crystal Palace and this is the sort of match they need to win if they are to climb out of the bottom three.

Another team that simply has to start winning is Sheffield United. The Blades visit Bournemouth, who finally got back to winning ways last weekend when they beat Burnley. Chris Wilder's side will have their work cut out if they are to get anything on the south coast.

The other 15:00 match sees Wolves host a Fulham side who have won three of their last four outings. Both sides are outside bets for a Europa Conference League if they can hit and maintain some form, so that could be an intriguing clash at Molineux.

Saturday's action comes to a close with Arsenal hosting Brentford at the Emirates. The Gunners can go top with a win and, given their recent form, anything other than all three points would be a disaster. They simply have to make up ground on their title rivals when they play each other and this is a great opportunity.

Sunday 10 March

All sorts of storylines are on offer when Sunday's action rolls around.

It all gets underway at 13:00 in a huge Champions League qualification clash between Aston Villa and Tottenham. Unai Emery's Villans have been flying but with fatiguing midweek commitments and a few injuries to deal with, Spurs could escape what is bound to be a fervent Villa Park with a point.

Two other Europa League sides kick-off an hour later. Brighton's hopes of glory on the continent went up in flames as they suffered a damaging 4-0 defeat to Roma and their inconsistency coupled with significant absentees will make their meeting with Nottingham Forest tougher than expected.

West Ham still have hope in Europe, only losing 1-0 to Freiburg, and have a great chance to whip up the London Stadium crowd before next week's return leg when they face Burnley. The Clarets are 11 points from safety with the second-worst goal difference in the division, with their hopes of survival weakening every week.

The weekend's action all builds towards Sunday's big one. Liverpool and Man City are separated by only a point in what could be Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola's last tussle in English football and a pure spectacle is expected. The Reds and the Cityzens have played out classics in recent memory and another could materialise at Anfield.

Monday 11 March

There's a good dose of Monday evening football as two institutions in Chelsea and Newcastle meet at Stamford Bridge. The pair are 11th and eighth in the table respectively and neither can be trusted to bag all three points, with the goals likely to be shared around in west London.
