Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho has praised Vinicius Junior after his excellent Champions League display for Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Bayern Munich looked on course to win at the Santiago Bernabeu after Alphonso Davies’ strike put the Germans 3-2 ahead on aggregate in the semi-final tie.
However, Joselu came off the bench to score twice as Madrid completed a stunning 4-3 comeback victory to book a place in the final.
Vinicius Junior did not register a goal or an assist, but he was a constant threat throughout the game.
The Brazilian had three shots on target and created two key passes. Garnacho was impressed with Vinicius’ performance.
Garnacho has also been enjoying an excellent 2023-24 season despite United languishing eighth in the Premier League standings.
The Argentine has established himself as a key member of Erik ten Hag’s team, scoring seven goals in 33 league appearances.
The 19-year-old wasn’t at his best in Monday’s 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace, much like most of the other United players.
The emergence of Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo from the academy this campaign is positive and suggests a brighter future for the Red Devils.
