Norwich City’s star striker Teemu Pukki looks like a different player now than the one Celtic fans once watched.
The Finn has taken England’s top flight by storm with four goals in two games after lighting up the Championship last season.
But it is a far cry from the form he showed during his time north of the border, where he struggled to adapt in his solitary season there.
After nine goals in 37 games for the Hoops, he departed for Brondy but looking back, he admits he underestimated the Scottish game.
“I did think that it would be easier than it was,” he told Sportsmail when interviewed by another former Celtic and Norwich forward, Chris Sutton.
“I got the call saying ‘Celtic want you’ and I knew Celtic were a top, top team. I thought it would be much easier than it was.
“It was quicker than I thought. When you got the ball, there was always a defender on you.
“It is hard when you think you can do better and things just aren’t working out. Celtic feels like it was a while ago now.
“My four years with Brondby did me good. It was still hard for the first two years but in the last two, I started to score.”
Pukki has found life considerably easier in England, netting 34 goals in less than 50 games in all competitions.
