Two players boasting legend status at La Liga giants Real Madrid this week faced off on the pitch in the Middle East.

As much came by way of a meeting between Al-Ittihad, and Al-Qadsiah.

Ahead of the new Saudi Pro League campaign being kicked into gear, the two sides last night faced off in a friendly meeting in Jeddah.

When all was said and done, the spoils were shared, by way of a 1-1 stalemate.

As alluded to above, though, in the hours since the clash, much of the online chatter has not centered on proceedings over the course of the 90 minutes, but instead the scenes prior to kick-off.

This comes after two former Real Madrid captains were reunited, in a special moment for both.

On the Al-Ittihad side of things, Karim Benzema led his side onto the pitch at King Abdullah Sports City.

And the Ballon d’Or winner was greeted at the halfway line by none other than the man to have replaced him as captain in Spain’s capital, in Nacho.

The 34-year-old took on the captain’s armband for Al-Qadsiah for the matchup, giving rise to a special moment, as showcased below:
