Journalist Ramon Alvarez has made a significant claim regarding the future of Real Madrid’s current manager, Carlo Ancelotti.

According to Alvarez, the Italian coach is considering Saudi Arabia as a possible destination once he leaves Los Blancos.

This revelation has come to light as Ancelotti reportedly has a major offer on the table from Saudi Arabia. While no decision has been made yet, it seems that Saudi clubs are keen on securing his services for their growing football project.

Amidst these rumours, Real Madrid continue to view Xabi Alonso as the perfect candidate to take over from Ancelotti when the time comes.

Alonso, who has been impressing as Bayer Leverkusen’s head coach, remains the frontrunner for the role once Ancelotti departs.

The idea of Alonso stepping into the managerial role at Real Madrid has been widely discussed for some time now, given his close ties to the club and his coaching potential.

What has Ancelotti said about his future?

Interestingly, Ancelotti himself fuelled speculation when he stated that Real Madrid would be the final club he manages.

However, he did not completely close the door on a national team job, with rumours swirling about a potential offer from the Brazil national team. This has only added to the uncertainty surrounding his future plans.

It is worth noting that Ancelotti extended his contract with Real Madrid in November 2023, silencing rumours of his imminent exit. His deal is set to last until 2026, but questions around his future persist.

While Ancelotti’s current stint has not been without challenges, particularly with a less-than-ideal start to the season, it appears he will remain in charge until the season’s end.

In the meantime, Real Madrid are closely monitoring Alonso’s progress at Bayer Leverkusen, preparing for a potential managerial transition. By the end of the season, the club will likely have a clearer picture of Alonso’s suitability to step into Ancelotti’s shoes.
