United announced on Tuesday evening that they had reached a mutual agreement with Ronaldo to go their separate ways. It was coming after his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan, during which he slammed the club and made a series of allegations.

The 37-year-old, who is currently in Qatar for the World Cup, is now free to join a new club when Portugal’s campaign comes to an end — but United won’t be involved in those talks.
