Franco-Uruguayan manager Pablo Correa has returned to AS Nancy Lorraine for a third stint as manager. This time, he is charged with saving the club from relegation to the fourth tier of French football.

Correa’s appointment was confirmed by the club on Saturday. He succeeds Benoît Pedretti at the Championnat National club. Nancy as currently second-from-bottom in France’s third division and in the relegation zone after Round 13. The club have just two wins so far this season, the joint-lowest total in the league.

Nancy next face third-placed Rouen before a trip to sixth-placed Le Mans. It certainly won’t be an easy start for Correa, who last managed the club in 2017. Correa’s first stint at the club was between 2002 and 2011. He won the Ligue 2 title (2005) and the Coupe de la Ligue (2006) during that time.

Correa then returned to the club in 2013 and led the club back to Ligue 1 after winning the Ligue 2 title in 2016. He has managed 549 games for the Lorraine side and he is now tasked with ensuring their safety in the third tier.
