Oosting optimistic ahead of FC Twente’s game against Lazio | OneFootball

FC Twente coach Joseph Oosting is looking forward to the confrontation with Lazio in the Europa League. After the first two matches in the tournament, draws with Manchester United and Fenerbahce, the Tukkers are heading into this clash with confidence.

Oosting was level-headed when approaching the prospect of welcoming I Biancocelesti to Enschede in his midweek press conference:

“It is a great challenge for us to play against a top club. Lazio is a club in the category of Manchester United and Fenerbahce . We have been able to measure ourselves against well-known clubs this season, and that gives us energy.

“Against Lazio, a lot is possible for us. We have to be good on the ball and careful in attack. We also have to be aware of our remaining defence. In transition, they can be deadly with their speed. The passion that Lazio has in how you experience a match, we have to deliver that too.”

Lazio are top of the Europa League’s league phase table, and have convincingly dealt with Dynamo Kiev and Nice in their first two matches. Oosting continued:

“They can defend really well and also give you the idea that there is something to be gained, but then score out of nowhere. Physically, Italian teams are always there and we have to make sure that we ‘level’ ourselves with that or go a step further.”
