FC Twente manager Joseph Oosting heaped praise on Lazio ahead of the two clubs’ Europa League meeting on Thursday.

In his pre-match press conference (via Il Corriere dello Sport), Oosting insisted that Lazio are among the strongest clubs in the competition, as they aren’t inferior to the Red Devils.

Playing against a top club is another big challenge for us. Lazio is a club in the same category of Manchester United and Fenerbahce. We’re talking about a great club that has been competing for the top spots in Serie A for years and even played in the Champions League last season. We have already been able to compete with renowned clubs in Europe this season and we draw confidence from this.

Plan On How to Stop Lazio From Experiencing Success

The 52-year-old is aware of Lazio’s danger in counter-attacks but believes his team is capable of putting up a good display.

In the transition, they can be lethal with their speed. But we have what it takes to compete with a top Italian team. In the training sessions, we have placed the emphasis on what we want to do against Lazio. We must be good with the ball and attentive in attack. We also have to be attentive in the defensive phase. I think we have a good tactical plan in store.
