Former Marseille defender Samuel Gigot could finally make his bow when Lazio take on FC Twente on the third matchday of the UEFA Europa League Group Stage.
The 30-year-old signed for the Biancocelesti on last summer’s deadline day, replacing Nicolo Casale who joined Bologna. However, the Frenchman was far from his best physical shape upon his arrival in Italy and then sustained a shoulder injury that further delayed his club debut.
Nevertheless, La Lazio Siamo Noi tips Gigot to make his first appearance for Lazio as a starter in the away fixture against FC Twente. He would join Alessio Romagnoli who only played for 23 minutes against Juventus before receiving his marching orders. In this case, Marco Baroni would rest Patric and Mario Gila.
With Manuel Lazzari still unavailable, Adam Marusic should start once again at right-back, while Luca Pellegrini replaces Nuno Tavares who sustained a cramp in the weekend.
In the middle of the park, Matias Vecino will take over from Matteo Guendouzi who’s still suffering from a bruised toe, while Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Nicolo Rovella will be vying for the other midfield spot.
Furthermore, Boulaye Dia will lead the line while Taty Castellanos gets some rest. The Senegalese striker should be supported by Mattia Zaccagni and Loum Tchaouna on the wings, while Pedro will operate as an attacking midfielder.
