In football, growth is everything. Most players set their sights on being a better player each season after the next and base their success on growing both on and off the pitch.
With such growth also comes massive increases in market value, and as a young player begins to make a name for themselves their value will almost certainly increase exponentially.
This has been the case for Barcelona youngster Pau Cubarsí, who leads the way in market value growth since the beginning of this season.
The 17-year-old started the season with a value of €39.5 million, as per Football Benchmark, but now has a value of €70.1 million, which is a growth of €30.6 million.
He leads the way ahead of Chelsea stars Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer, Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush, and even his own teammate Fermín López, who has seen a growth of €20.6 million.
Cubarsí has been key for Hansi Flick’s side this season, making 19 appearances for the club, and doesn’t seem to be slowing his upward trajectory anytime soon.
