Speaking to Frankfurt Rundschau, Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Oliver Glasner talks about his contract situation with the Bundesliga club.

When asked about a possible contract extension, Glasner said: “Less time has passed since my contract started than it is until my contract ends in 2024.” When asked more about the topic, Glasner expanded: “I really have a long enough contract, time is not pressing. It is important to me that there is a common perspective that allows us to play for international positions in the long term.”

Glasner was also asked about any potential offers from other clubs as over the last 18 months his stock has risen as he led Wolfsburg to the Champions League before winning the Europa League with Frankfurt, the 48-year-old added: “I don’t worry about that. Five and a half years ago I was a coach in Austria’s second division. If someone had told me back then that I would reach the Champions League twice with two German clubs and win the Europa League on top of that, I would have said they were crazy. It comes as it comes.

“I just enjoy coming here every day, working with the players. And we also see that we are constantly evolving. The boys are going with me, so it’s fun for me. And quite fundamentally: if I have the feeling that I’m still in the right place, then that’s okay and I’ll stay.”

Since moving from Wolfsburg in 2021, Glasner’s biggest achievement by far is the Europa League win in 2021 as he led Eintracht Frankfurt to a shock win in Europe’s secondary competition. In the league, Glasner’s first season in Frankfurt was underwhelming, finishing 11th. However, this season they have turned their form around completely not only qualifying from their Champions League group but they also sit fourth in the league before the break, possessing one of the best attacks in the league.
