Serie B leaders Parma have officially secured their promotion to Serie A with two games to spare following Wednesday evening’s 1-1 draw away to struggling Bari.
The Crociati sit atop the Italian second division with a tally of 74 points after 36 league matches of the 2023-24 campaign, and could mathematically secure their status of Serie B champions if they beat Cremonese at the weekend, depending on results elsewhere.
Fabio Pecchia’s side have been able to bounce back after finishing fourth last term and narrowly missing out on promotion. They were defeated 3-2 on aggregate in the play-off semi-finals by current Serie A side Cagliari, led by Claudio Ranieri.
This time around, Parma have lost just four times in the league, while also securing 21 wins and another 11 draws.
Parma have been led from the front by wingers Dennis Man and Adrian Benedyczak, who have combined for 24 goals in all competitions this season. They have 13 and 11 each, respectively.
The team still have two important matches left to play this season, facing Cremonese on Sunday, before concluding the season away to Reggiana net Friday.
