Just hours after Romain Faivre’s (25) return to parent club Bournemouth, FC Lorient have their replacement, with OGC Nice winger Badredine Bouanani (19) joining Les Merlus on loan until the end of the season.
Bouanani faced competition from Gaëtan Laborde on the right-hand side of the front three, whilst the arrival of Mohamed-Ali Cho from Real Sociedad further limited the Algerian’s chances of breaking into Francesco Farioli’s starting XI. Having played just 172 minutes of football in all competitions this season, a loan deal was always on the cards for Bouanani this month.
Faivre’s departure paved the way for Bouanani to leave Les Aiglons this month and get some much-needed experience. The Algerian international will likely play in one of the No.10 roles utilised by Régis Le Bris. The deal does not include the option to make the loan permanent at the end of the season, whilst Nice-Matin also report that Bouanani will be prevented from facing his parent club when they meet in a Ligue 1 fixture in April.
