Promoted Ligue 1 side FC Lorient has announced the signing of Bingourou Kamara (28). The Senegal international goalkeeper was a free agent upon the expiry of his contract with Pau FC. The 28-year-old has signed a two-year deal with Les Merlus. Kamara was among the best Ligue 2 goalkeepers last season with the Palois side. The Senegalese is making a return to Ligue 1 after previous spells in Strasbourg and Montpellier.

“It is with great joy and pleasure that I join FC Lorient today, a club that has had some very good goalkeepers in the past. Joining this lineage is a real source of pride and I hope to bring my experience to this group“, said Lorient’s newest recruit. Kamara is expected to be the No. 1 goalkeeper for Lorient given the incumbent, Yvon Mvogo, is expected to leave the Brittany side upon the expiry of his contract.
