A bit of insight…potentially, into who may and may not be available for this game, as Newcastle United take on Brighton at St James’ Park.

Newcastle United aiming to stay in the top six, whilst Brighton come to Tyneside having won their first Premier League game in eight weeks, a 1-0 victory last weekend against Villa.

The photos published by Newcastle United featuring Wednesday’s training and the following 18 first team squad players involved from what we could see:

Elliot Anderson, Harvey Barnes, Dan Burn, Martin Dubravka, Paul Dummett, Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes, Lewis Hall, Alexander Isak, Joelinton, Loris Karius, Emil Krafth, Sean Longstaff, Jacob Murphy, Nick Pope, Matt Ritchie, Sandro Tonali(***), Callum Wilson

(***Sandro Tonali banned until 27 August 2024)

Great to see the likes of Nick Pope and Joelinton back in full training and in contention for Saturday’s match.

Those not seen…

Of those who got on the pitch at Burnley, no sign in the official images of Tino Livramento nor Miguel Almiron.

Whilst no surprise that Joe Willock, Lewis Miley, Jamaal Lascelles, Sven Botman and Matt Targett were all absent, set to be missing until next season.

Fabian Schar missed the Burnley match but told Swiss media he believes he will be back playing for Newcastle before the end of the season.

Whilst Kieran Trippier has been working with a personal trainer and physio out in Dubai but was hoping to be back in group training sometime next week, with the hope of playing in one or more of these final three matches.

Fingers crossed on this pair.

Always difficult to know for sure with the Newcastle United training images, with regard to those who are unseen, as players can be innocently missed out of the set of published photos and/or Eddie Howe wants to keep the opposition guessing…
