French attacker Alassane Pléa has officially signed for PSV Eindhoven. Pléa joins the club from Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach in a deal worth €3m, according to Foot Mercato. PSV reportedly beat off competition from Beşiktaş, LOSC Lille and clubs in Saudi Arabia.
Pléa came through the Olympique Lyonnais academy, making his professional debut for the club in July 2011. After a six-month loan spell at Auxerre in Ligue 2, he joined OGC Nice on a permanent deal in August 2014. Pléa spent four seasons at the Allianz Riviera, scoring 44 goals in 135 appearances.
He joined Borussia Mönchengladbach in August 2018. In 236 appearances, he registered 68 goals and 53 assists for the club. During his time there, he played in a variety of attacking roles – as a striker, left winger, and attacking midfielder.
Pléa has represented France internationally, making his debut – and sole appearance – in November 2018.
