Official: Barcelona register Roony Bardghji as a reserve-team player | OneFootball

In a major development, Barcelona have finally resolved the registration problems with new signing Roony Bardghji. The 19-year-old winger has finally been registered as a Barça Atletic player.

The difficulty in generating sufficient Financial Fair Play space during the final day of the transfer window led the club to determine that, for this season, he will be listed as a second-team player through the Federacio Catalana.

At 19 years old, Bardghji can play for the reserve side, although the intention is for him to remain within the first-team dynamic.

The teenage Swede featured in one of Barça Atletic’s pre-season friendlies and, at least until January, this is the solution that has been found. Now, Hansi Flick can call upon him at any time to join the first-team squad lists.

Real Madrid have used the same strategy with Franco Mastantuono, who has been registered with Castilla and given the No. 30 shirt, but regularly plays with the senior side.

Although this is a somewhat unusual situation, it is a formula used by all clubs with youngsters who alternate between the first team and the reserves.

Bardghji, since arriving from FC Copenhagen, has convinced Flick during pre-season. The manager will count on him as an option, just like Marc Bernal, who will also compete with a reserve-team registration.

At present, only the case of Hector Fort remains unresolved. The full-back is expected to leave on loan, with Mallorca in the best position, and he finds himself in a situation similar to Bardghji.

Fort, if he stays, cannot be registered as a first-team player, and he will do so with a reserve-team squad number, although he would continue working daily under Hansi Flick.

It should be remembered that Barça Atletic will play this season in Segunda Federación, with their debut set for 7 September against Porreres at the Johan Cruyff.
