In a major development, FC Barcelona have finally completed the registration of defender Gerard Martin in La Liga.

The Blaugrana have once again been battling Fair Play woes and have found it difficult to register all their players.

After enrolling Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford in time for the season-opener against Mallorca, the Catalans were left with three pending registrations – Martin, Wojciech Szczesny, and Roony Bardghji.

The reigning Spanish champions were unable to get the formalities completed in time for the second league game vs Levante.

However, following the recent departures of Inaki Pena and Jan Virgili, and the imminent contract termination of Oriol Romeu, have opened the door for the Catalans to complete the registrations.

In addition, it has been reported that the board decided to front up another €5 million in financial guarantees to complete all pending registrations, starting with Martin, who has now been successfully registered as a first-team player after playing with a B team licence last season.
