After intense speculation linking him with a move away from Barcelona, it appears there is finally light at the end of the tunnel for the club and Fermin Lopez.
The young forward, who was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, has decided to stay at Barcelona and will not be considering a move to the Premier League.
That is according to Spanish journalist Santi Ovalle, who has offered a vital update on Fermin’s future.
Speaking to Directo Gol, Ovalle confirmed that Fermin will soon come up with a statement on his future, confirming that he will be staying at Barcelona.
Ovalle adds that the statement is expected to come tomorrow, just before Flick’s press conference. It will likely be a positive update.
This comes after a series of negotiations between Chelsea and Barcelona, who were not willing to part ways with the Spaniard on a cut-price deal.

The Premier League giants were reportedly ready to shell out €50 million for the attacker. But Barcelona were having none of it.
As a matter of fact, the Catalans raised their asking price to €90 million as they rate Fermin quite highly.
Former Barça youth director Jordi Roura recently spoke to Gerard Romero, where he claimed that he would only accept an offer of €120 million for Fermin while urging Flick to keep hold of the player.
With Fermin likely to stay at Barcelona, the attacker will continue to fight for his place in the starting eleven this season.
However, the road ahead won’t be easy as the Spaniard will have to compete with the likes of Gavi and Dani Olmo, among others.
Fermin has featured in just 45 minutes of football so far, and it will be interesting to see whether or not he can find himself in the starting eleven in this weekend’s clash against Rayo Vallecano.
