La Liga giants Barcelona have on Thursday announced a fresh addition to the club’s academy ranks.
This comes amid confirmation that Pol Mancheño has put pen to paper on terms in Catalunya’s capital.
Mancheño, for his part, is a 16-year-old attacker, who generally operates at centre-forward.
The Spanish youth international is fresh off a difficult campaign in 2024/25, which saw Mancheño’s game time at Espanyol heavily limited after it became clear that the player had no intention of signing a new contract.
And as alluded to above, this week, Espanyol’s woes have been doubled.
This comes with Mancheño having made the call to link up with the Pericos most bitter rivals, in the form of Barcelona.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the Blaugrana:
‘FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with the player Pol Mancheño to join the club at the youth stage. The striker is already training with Barça’s Juvenil B. Welcome!’
Mancheño is the third player to have made the call to swap Espanyol for Barcelona this summer, after Joan García, and Roger Martínez.
