Bayern Munich are weighing up a bid to sign Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea.
It has been known for some time that Bayern have been monitoring Nkunku this summer, and they could move for him once they have completed the sale of fellow French forward Kingsley Coman to Al Nassr for around £30million.
Nkunku is not part of Chelsea’s plans this season despite his reasonably significant involvement for the Blues during their Club World Cup-winning campaign.
The 27-year-old has interest from elsewhere in Europe and Chelsea are determined to sell him rather than loan him out. A return to his former club RB Leipzig is not currently on the cards.
Bayern wish to strengthen their attack despite having already spent north of £65m to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool.
Nkunku’s opportunities for game time beyond the Conference League last season were limited, and the Blues have since signed Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and added Estevao Willian to their squad.
It is understood that Nkunku is keen to explore options away from Chelsea after his struggles to become a key player at Stamford Bridge since his £52m move from RB Leipzig in 2023.
