Official: Azzedine Ounahi signs with Girona FC until 2030

Azzedine Ounahi has officially signed with Girona FC on Saturday, August 30, 2025. The Moroccan international leaves Olympique de Marseille for good to join the Catalan club until June 30, 2030, aiming to reignite his career in La Liga.

The 25-year-old midfielder returns to Spain after a successful loan spell at Panathinaikos Athens. In Greece, Ounahi regained his confidence and consistency, establishing himself as a key figure for the Athens side in a league that allowed him to get valuable playing time. His stint with the Greek club was driven by the need to revive a career that had stalled in Marseille. Although he was often linked with a return to Panathinaikos, it is ultimately Girona FC where Azzedine Ounahi has decided to continue his journey.

"Girona FC and Olympique de Marseille have reached an agreement for the transfer of Azzedine Ounahi, who becomes the new red and white player. The Moroccan midfielder signs a five-year contract, until June 30, 2030, and joins the project led by Míchel Sánchez to strengthen the team's midfield," announced the Spanish club.
