Odisha FC rope in Denechandra Meitei on loan from Kerala Blasters

Indian Super League club Odisha FC have completed a one-season loan deal with Kerala Blasters for Denechandra Meitei.

Meitei joined Kerala Blasters in 2020 from TRAU FC. He made his first appearance for his side against Chennaiyin FC. He then signed a new deal with the Blasters, keeping him at the club until 2024.

The youngster played his first game for Kerala Blasters in the Durand Cup against Bengaluru FC last year. He then went on to make his ISL debut in the 2021-22 season when he came on as a substitute for Nishu Kumar against Bengaluru FC.

Denechandra has played for India at the under-23 level when he represented the nation in a tournament held in Bangladesh.

A versatile defender, who can also feature as a defensive midfielder, Meitei is sure to add some much needed fire power for Odisha FC in the centre of the field in the 2022-23 Indian Super League season.
