Nottingham Forest have lodged an appeal against their points deduction for Financial Fair Play breaches.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side were plunged into the Premier League’s relegation zone with a four-point penalty after being found guilty of Profit and Sustanability regulations.

But the Tricky Trees announced on Monday that they plan to challenge the original ruling by an independent commission in efforts to see their sanction reduced.

“Nottingham Forest can confirm that it has today lodged an appeal against the four point sanction imposed by the commission in relation to the club’s breach of the Premier League’s Profit & Sustainability Rules (PSR),” read a club statement.

“The club will not be making any further statement at this time.”

Forest will host Crystal Palace when the Premier League resumes on Saturday.
