Borja Sainz has been one of the standout players in the Championship this term and could be set for a big move away from Norwich City in the summer.

In his 26 matches this season, he has found the back of the net 15 times, delivering some stunning goals that have electrified Carrow Road.

While you can question his team attitude at times, there is no doubting his ability and the Canaries will need him for their push for the play-offs once he returns from his six-match ban.

With Sainz lighting up the second tier, Football League World has opted to look at where he ranks in the world's most valuable left-wingers. To do this, we have utilised Transfermarkt's value estimation tool, which gives players a monetary value based on elements such as performance and age.

Borja Sainz is 78th on the most valuable left-wingers list

On Transfermarkt's list, Sainz ranks 78th in the world for left-wingers with the Spaniard's value standing at €12 million.

This marks the highest valuation of his career, a significant rise from just €2 million as recently as July.

Several players sit at the same valuation as Sainz, including former Norwich City star Jonathan Rowe. Just outside his ranking, Besiktas' Ernest Muçi and Athletic Bilbao's Álvaro Djaló sit in 79th and 77th place, respectively.

A surprise name just ahead of Sainz is Neymar Junior, with the former Barcelona star occupying 69th place.

At the top of the list, we see some of the biggest stars in world football, with Vinícius Júnior topping the list with a ridiculous valuation of €200 million.

Sainz fully merits his current ranking, and at just 23 years old, he has plenty of time to develop and climb even higher up the list.

Norwich City will be demanding a hefty sum for Borja Sainz

As alluded to previously, Sainz still has plenty of development to complete at Carrow Road and if Johannes Hoff Thorup can edge that extra bit of fight out of him, his transfer value could increase exponentially.

Valued at €12 million by Transfermarkt, it is likely that he would go for well in advance of this number, with Football League World's Canaries pundit arguing that they would need at least £20 million for him to depart in the summer.

In the weeks leading up to the January transfer window, Sainz had earned reported interest from the likes of Villarreal, Atlético Madrid and Athletic Bilbao. The Spanish attacker was a former graduate of the Bilbao academy, and he may be enticed to return to the Lions with their unique transfer policy holding a special place in the hearts of people from the Basque Country.

Ultimately, if Sainz rediscovers his best form and plays a key role in helping Norwich secure a play-off spot – or even promotion to the Premier League – he will undoubtedly find himself in the spotlight.

This would put Norwich in a stronger position to negotiate a higher fee, though with his contract running until 2026, they may struggle to receive his full market value. Nevertheless, they should be open to a sale, as a substantial transfer sum could be reinvested into the squad, whether they remain in the Championship or secure promotion to the Premier League.
