Eintracht Frankfurt will be without the winger against Real Madrid on Wednesday as he is in final talks with a new club.

Eintracht Frankfurt are travelling to Helsinki for Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid (kick-off 21:00 CEST/22:00 local time) without Filip Kostic. The winger is in final talks with a new club. Eintracht board member for sport Markus Krösche explained: “Filip conducted himself in an exemplary manner last season and played a big part in the UEFA Europa League win. We’ve always said that we wouldn’t put any obstacles in the way of an offer that’s good for all sides and that we’re ready to talk. We’re currently in promising talks with another club and an agreement is close. We have a strong squad and a lot of confidence in the boys, who have all earned their opportunity and are fired up for the challenges ahead. In light of this – and also at the request of the prospective new club – we decided to play the match against Real Madrid without Filip.”
