In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Newcastle United are eager to recruit Juventus ace Federico Chiesa. It has been stated that the Magpies are showing interest in the Italy international in the summer.

Chiesa’s Impressive Form In Italian Football

Chiesa is enjoying his football at Juventus after putting in a series of impressive displays at the centre of their defence. The Italian sensation has banged in seven goals and secured a couple of assists in 25 appearances for the Turin outfit this season in multiple competitions.

The 26-year-old has been a reliable performer in the final third as he is averaging 2.2 shots, 1.6 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after making 76.5% of his attempted passes in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2025. Therefore, Howe would be wise to get a deal done for Chiesa on the cheap at the end of this season.

Should Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe Snap Chiesa Up?

Chiesa is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few energetic runs with the ball out in the wide areas. He can shoot the ball purely and with power from long range and can create some meaningful opportunities for his teammates to find the back of the net.

The Italian talent is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also function as a right-winger or play as a striker down the middle if told to do so. However, he might struggle to adapt to the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football.

We can expect Chiesa to add more quality to Newcastle‘s attack. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Tyneside club in the coming seasons. Therefore, it makes sense for the Magpies to try and snap Chiesa up at the end of this campaign.

At 26, Chiesa has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for Newcastle boss Eddie Howe to consider in the upcoming transfer period. He might even help the Magpies compete for a major trophy or two in the not-too-distant future.
