On Tuesday, Achraf Hakimi wrote himself into the World Cup history books.
Morocco’s main man was presented with the opportunity to send his team to the quarter-final stage at the expense of Spain.
After La Roja missed three consecutive penalties in the shootout, Pablo Sarabia, Carlos Soler and Sergio Busquets the guilty parties, Hakimi knew all he had to do was score from 12 yards – which is easier said than done.
Most people in the same situation would opt to blast the ball as hard as possible and pray it ripples the back of the net, but not Hakimi.
The Paris Saint-Germain defender decided to bring out the famous Panenka skill move to bamboozle Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon and send Morocco to the World Cup quarter-finals for the very first time.
It was a moment of audacity and class that will be remembered by many for decades to come.
After he scored his penalty, Hakimi – who was ironically born in Madrid – performed a celebration that can only be described as a ‘waddle’.
At the time, people were a tad confused by the routine, but it seems it had ties to Spain legend Sergio Ramos, who is teammates with Hakimi at PSG.

Ramos was controversially left out of Spain’s squad for the Qatar World Cup, which prompted Hakimi to show him some love on Twitter after the announcement was made.
The ‘best defender in the world’ probably didn’t enjoy your Panenka or the subsequent celebration, though.
Well, unless he really is that angry with Spain after not being called up, which we seriously doubt.
After beating Spain in the most dramatic way possible in football, Morocco have booked a date with Portugal on Saturday.
Fernando Santos’ side demolished Switzerland in Tuesday’s late game, winning by a scoreline of 6-1 – and without Cristiano Ronaldo in the team from the start.
The 37-year-old’s replacement for the match, Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos, bagged the first hat-trick of the Qatar World Cup, with Rafael Leao, Pepe and Raphael Guerreiro the other scorers for Portugal.
Manuel Akanji’s goal for Switzerland in the second half really was the Oxford Dictionary definition of ‘a consolation’…
