Former Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic recalled his decision to join the capital club in 2011 from Lyon. The Bosnian player would go on to represent the Giallorossi colors for five years before joining Serie A rivals Juventus.
“Roma was the most important choice of my career, initially I was not very convinced of going to Italy. But the club wanted me at all costs,” he said in an interview with DAZN.
“I spent five wonderful years there. The best years of my career. It was an extraordinary club with great people, but unfortunately we failed to win anything.”
He added, “The only thing missing was the consistency in keeping players around. In that period of time they disassembled the team a lot.”
