Though the switch has not yet been officially announced, it is understood that Thomas Tuchel has called Loftus-Cheek and asked him to join up with the Three Lions squad.

The 29-year-old has started in each of Milan’s first two Serie A matches of the 2025-26 season, finding the net in the 2-0 victory over Lecce last weekend.

He has kept his place in the Milan line-up, despite Massimiliano Allegri and his team bringing in the likes of Luka Modric, Ardon Jashari and Samuele Ricci this summer transfer window. That is on top of the already-existing Youssouf Fofana and Yunus Musah (until deadline day). France international Adrien Rabiot has now also been added into the mix.
