Loftus-Cheek last played for England back in November 2018, featuring as a substitute in a game against the United States.

The midfielder has played 10 times for the Three Lions and was part of the national squad for the 2018 World Cup, making four appearances in the competition.

Loftus-Cheek is an academy graduate of Chelsea, who spent 19 years at the club.

He made 155 appearances during his stay in London and won two Premier League trophies with them.

The 29-year-old joined AC Milan in 2023. He has made 71 appearances across all competitions for the Italian outfit, bagging 11 goals and three assists.

His performances in the Serie A earned him a call-up to England, who will take on Andorra and Serbia in World Cup qualifiers this month.

Manager Thomas Tuchel made a few surprise selections in his initial squad for the upcoming two games.

The German boss dropped Trent Alexander-Arnold, who quit Liverpool to join Real Madrid in the summer.

He handed Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and Tottenham Hotspur full-back Djed Spence their maiden senior call-ups.
