Reports in Italy suggest that Milan have already dropped their pursuit of England defender Joe Gomez despite having a verbal agreement with the player, as Liverpool have not sanctioned his sale on the final day of the summer transfer window.
The summer transfer window in Serie A ends today at 20:00 CET (19:00 BST). Make sure you follow all the live updates and confirmed transfers on the Football Italia LIVEBLOG.
Reports on deadline day claimed that Milan had an agreement on personal terms in place with Gomez.

However, the 28-year-old, who has spent the last 10 years at Anfield, is no longer expected to make the move to San Siro this window, as Liverpool have not authorised his sale according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio.
Even if the Rossoneri continued to negotiate a deal with Liverpool, there are concerns that there is no longer adequate time to arrange a medical and the other formalities of a transfer.
Di Marzio suggests that part of the issue is that Liverpool have not yet found an agreement to sign England international Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. Gomez would only be considered surplus to requirements if Liverpool bring in another central defender before the close of the transfer window later this evening.
The situation leaves Milan looking at alternative options, with reports that they will look to secure a deal for 19-year-old Wolfsburg defender David Odugu.
