Thom Haye has moved to reigning Indonesian champions Persib Bandung. Playing in the country he represents internationally, Haye called time on a recent stint with Almere City.
At the end of last season, Haye left Almere after 29 outings couldn’t stop the ‘Black Sheep’ from being relegated to the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
Although he seemed to attract little interest from clubs, both domestically and internationally, he continued to train with NAC Breda before the club opted for a different approach (signing Lewis Holtby).
The 30-year-old Haye joins a Persib side that have had quite a decorated recent history. They won two Liga 1 titles back-to-back, in 2023–24 and 2024–25. Before the current league format, Persib won the 2014 Indonesia Super League, the 1994–95 Liga Indonesia Premier Division title, and five Perserikatan (amateur) titles.
Haye has a total of 236 Eredivisie matches to his name. Besides Almere City and NAC Breda, he has played for AZ, Willem II, ADO Den Haag, and SC Heerenveen. He also played with Lecce in Italy.
