Olympique de Marseille are considering a move for AC Monza’s head coach as they look to move quickly to fill their vacant managerial role.

According to Sacha Tavolieri, Marseille’s president Pablo Longoria has been using his Italian networks that he developed during his time working as a scout at Atalanta to find a solution to the current impasse at the club.

This has led Longoria to make contact with Monza’s manager Raffaele Palladino with the two thought to have spoken on the phone and exchanged information about the Marseille project.

Marseille are desperate not to make a similar mistake to last summer when they appointed Marcelino in late June and want to avoid any protracted negotiations, which looks to be the case with their other prime targets for the role.

Paulo Fonseca has not yet made a decision on his future, and could yet remain at Lille OSC beyond the end of his soon-to-be-expiring contract, while Sérgio Conceição has a long time left on his Porto deal.
