Asked by Liverpool’s official website whether he will always be a Liverpool fan, Mane replied: “Yeah, of course! After every game! After every one of my games in Munich I will come to the dressing room and I will watch Liverpool, for sure, because I am going to be Liverpool’s No.1 fan forever.

“I just want to say good luck to them and I have an eye on them. And for sure they will be even better because I know the boys: great players, great talent, great maturity and attitude, so of course, Liverpool will always stay even better, for sure.”

He has been given a hefty pay-rise and will earn £250,000-per-week at Bayern, per the Mirror.

According to Ghana outlet 3sports, that makes Mane the highest-paid African footballer in the world.

1. Sadio Mane (Bayern Munich) – £250,000-per-week

Mane has gone above former teammate Salah into first place. Mane earns £30,000-per-week more than the Egyptian winger.

Salah’s contract runs out next year, though. He is set to be given a contract that sees him go above Mane once again, whether that be at Liverpool or elsewhere.

Partey and Mahrez are both paid £200,000-per-week and share third place.

Ayew is being paid a hefty amount by Al Sadd. The 32-year-old has justified his wages having scored 18 goals in 29 games for the Qatari side.

Hakimi, Pepe, Zaha and Keita round out the top nine.

One notable absentee is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabonese striker was among the highest-paid African footballers in the world at Arsenal, but took a significant pay-cut to join Barcelona in February.

Marca report that he now earns €95,000-per-week at the Catalan giants.
