Manchester City are likely to be hit by interest and potentially official offers from Saudi Arabia this summer for legendary playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, according to reports.

The 32-year-old midfielder has endured a complex season to date, but has still delivered crucially important numbers in front of goal to further aid Manchester City’s pursuit of a historic domestic double at the end of the season.

De Bruyne missed the whole of the first-half of the season and returned to action in January, having sustained a reoccurrence of an earlier hamstring injury in the opening game of the Premier League season against Burnley.

That issue led to the decision from both the player and medical staff that surgery would be the best solution, in order to prevent further complications with his muscles later on down the line, especially considering his age.

However, with fitness concerns still lingering and De Bruyne’s current Manchester City contract entering the final year of it’s validity at the end of the season, there appears to be an intention from further afield to try and take advantage.

According to the information of Rudy Galletti, Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr ‘remain interested’ in Manchester City vice-captain and legendary midfielder Kevin De Bruyne for the summer transfer window.

It is claimed that negotiators from Saudi Arabia and their Pro League division, along with the aforementioned club’s representatives, will contact once again make contact with De Bruyne in the ‘coming weeks’.

While Al Nassr are being tipped as the early interested party in De Bruyne, Galletti reports that it also cannot be ruled out that other teams from the ambitious Middle-East league will decide to join the race for the 32-year-old before June.

Kevin De Bruyne is known to have pushed back on approaches from Saudi Arabia last summer, opting to remain at Manchester City in search of further success during the final years of his top-level professional playing career.

And while the likelier outcome this summer is for De Bruyne to further extend his Manchester City agreement, there remains a slim possibility that he could be more open to discussions from the ambitious league that is home to some of the most notable players in the game.

Al Nassr in particular are currently captained by the legendary Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo, while former Liverpool man Sadio Mane also committed himself to their project. Aymeric Laporte also exited City for the same club last summer.
