Manchester United loanee Amad has won the BLC Supporters’ Young Player of the Year award for 2022-23, after impressing on his season-long loan at Sunderland.

Following his arrival at the beginning of the season, Amad has become an integral part of Tony Mowbray’s side, scoring 12 goals and claiming three assists in 35 Championship appearances this term.

This exciting form as well as accolade will fill United fans with hope about Amad’s return. We shouldn’t forget how bleak his future looked after a year at Rangers, so our fingers were firmly crossed that he would turn things around at the Stadium of Light.

The award was voted on by the fans, as confirmed by Sunderland’s official website.

Manchester United were quick to send a message of congratulations on Twitter.

Amad also won the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for December.

I get the impression Sunderland would have the Ivory Coast international back in a heartbeat.

We reckon Erik ten Hag will have plans for Amad next season.
