Manchester City forward Murphy signs new deal | OneFootball

Manchester City forward Lily Murphy has signed a contract extension with the club until summer 2027.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Cityzens this afternoon.

The 19-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season at Manchester City in 2024/2025. She made 22 appearances for the club in all competitions in which she scored two goals. The player previously spent a couple of years within the club’s academy system.

Murphy is one of the most exciting young prospects in the Barclays Women’s Super League and she will now continue her development at Manchester City.

After signing her new deal at The Joie Stadium, Murphy said “It’s an amazing feeling, this is what I’ve worked towards – getting this extension – and I’m so looking forward to this season.

“It’s a proud moment for me and my family, it’s just what I’ve always dreamed of. To stay at this amazing club, it’s what I’ve always wanted.

“It’s my childhood club so I’ve got a certain love for it, and I just love coming in every day training and I love all the staff and coaches. It’s an amazing environment to be in.”

Murphy will now be aiming to push for further first team minutes in the coming season.
